This is a collection about people and for people. These literary texts are born from real wartime stories shared with us by Ukrainians from different cities. The stories are grouped by values and enriched with illustrations. In them, you may recognize yourself, your friends, someone you know — or simply connect with something important and poignant.

The stories were created by authors from the Jack Grapes’ Writing Method community. Materials address sensitive topics, so we kindly encourage you to read or listen with care for yourself.

At the heart of the illustrations are drawings created by children from different parts of Ukraine, to which illustrator Alina Haieva added artistic graphic elements. Her recognizable line became a visual metaphor for connection between people, and together with the project’s designer they created illustrations that visualize the five core values.

All works have undergone psychological review, which means they can be safely used in educational activities with children and teenagers.

We have transformed the project’s stories into video format to show, through imagery and voices, the diversity of Ukrainian experience and the values that unite us. Sign‑language interpreters become protagonists of each story, creating yet another line of connection between people. In this way, different ways of speaking and seeing the world become part of one shared space.
